About
Jai Sri Ram, Jai Hanuman, Jai Srimannarayana

The Statue of Union will be North America’s tallest statue of Lord Hanuman, an embodiment of strength, devotion, and selfless service. Hanuman united Sri Rama with Sita and hence the name, Statue of Union.

The project in its entirety is the vision of His Holiness Sri Chinnajeeyar swamiji and will be unveiled on August 6, 2023 . This is an opportunity for us as a community to etch a path for future generations to seek the divine blessings of Lord Hanuman.

Located at Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas, the Panchaloha Abhaya Hanuman will stand at 89.7 feet tall – radiating benevolence, strength, and hope. The Statue of Union is about creating a spiritual epicenter where hearts find solace, minds find peace, and souls find a path to transcendence.

Let’s bring the vision of North America’s tallest Hanuman Statue to life, and together, let’s continue to create a world filled with love, peace, and devotion.

Once in his childhood, Pavan putra Anjaneya, looked up into the sky and marvelled at the glory of the Sun. Mistaking it for a ripe, red fruit, he soared into the sky with the intention of tasting it. Shocked at little Hanuman’s power and speed, Surya devatha called out to the king of devathas, Indra, for help. Indra tried to stop Hanuman but the mischievous lad paid no attention. Infuriated, Indra flung his vajra at him. Hurt on the jaw, Hanuman fell to the earth, in a daze.

Vayu devatha was livid. Withdrawing his divine energy from the earth and taking little Hanuman in his arms, he went to Swarga.

All the Devathas were alarmed. What would happen to all beings without air?

They rushed to Swarga and pleaded with Vayu Devatha. Indra apologised. He blessed Hanuman to be Chiranjeevi. No weapon of any kind would wound him!

Agni said, No fire will affect you!

Varuna said, Water will never harm you!

All the Devathas in unison said, none will ever equal you in strength and speed!

With all these unique abilities bestowed on him, Hanuman grew up but often used them for simple pranks. Once, a sage who was meditating cursed him that he would forget his powers, till he was constantly reminded.

When the army of monkeys and bears were assigned the task of going to Lanka in search of Sita, they were disheartened at the sight of the vast ocean and rued their inability to fly across such a distance. Despairing eyes turned to Jambavan.

It was Jambavan who saw Hanuman sitting at a distance, lost in the meditation of Sri Rama. He told the others, “Hanumana can easily do it, but he needs to be reminded of his powers”. All gathered around chanting, “Hanuman, you can do it…. Hanuman, you can do it….

Hanuman, you can do it….”

Suddenly Hanuman raised his mighty head and …. the rest is history!

We are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the mighty Hanuman, the Statue of Union, in Houston. His Holiness Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji gave us the guidance to collectively, individually, at a particular time or with every breath you take…. chant the mantra…

O:m Sundara Se:thave: Namaha.

The grace of Abhaya Anjaneya will be invoked. Swamiji also advised us to put aside some amount towards the Statue of Union daily.

Come, together let’s make it happen!
